Fast Sunday* thoughts-
The forces of light, and the forces of darkness are very, very real, and the veil between us and them is thin. Far more so than most of us realize.
I know that God is real, as is Jesus Christ. They are the most real of all of us. They have physical bodies like we do. They are exactly as we are meant to become. They love is with a love that we cannot fathom. Nothing we have ever felt comes close to it. If we understand that we are literal children of our Heavenly Parents, then we cannot doubt this love. When parents create a child that child is created of the parents. The child is a part of them. This means that we are quite literally made of the very same energy (all things are energy) that God is. If we are of Him, and if he IS love, then he loves us and cannot stop loving us under any circumstance.
I know that because of the love God has for us he will make perfect any imperfection. No matter what happens to us, no matter how painful, he will transform it to benefit and bless us, whether in this life or after. We will always receive a tremendous reward when we strive to live up to his standards for us. And like any parent, those standards are set out of love and for our safety. So no matter how hard life is, no matter what happens to you, no matter how alone you feel, God knows all about it and is always sending you love and has prepared blessings just for you. Always lean on Him, always call on Him in times of need. He gave you prayer, and the gift of the Holy Ghost, and guardian angels, and the power to call down more angels. Use what he has given you. Use the atonement. When we have faith we can always have joy, even in the face of adversity and affliction. This is because we know that it is but a moment, and our reward is great. Never fear, only love.
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
*In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, the first Sunday of the month is a day of fasting. On this day, instead of having talks given by our ward members during our Sacrament meeting, we stand and bear our testimonies as we feel prompted.
